Understanding
RSS
RSS is an acronym for Real Simple Syndication.
It is a 'pull' technology that allows you to pull or load into
your reader only those items in which you are interested. This
is different from email that is a 'push' technology ie, people
push it to you ... often when you don't want it.
To read RSS files,
you need an RSS aggregator or a browser, email client etc that
has aggregator capability. The screen capture below shows the
type of screen most readers have; in the left column is displayed
the title of the feed and the content of the feed in the main
right column.
This particular
program is called "Blog Express" and is free
to download.

Similar to an email client there
is a folders column at left and a text or content screen at right.

There are numerous feed readers
you can download, but before doing so, find out whether your email
client or web browser already has RSS aggregation capability.
