| BLOG OR RSS UPDATES |
|
In keeping with belief in keeping up with technology, I have implemented a blog and an RSS syndication feed for people who wish to keep up to date by using either or both.
If you wish to read my update blog, go to this URL and save it in your Favourites folder to refer to as you wish.
To access the RSS feed, enter dwave.com.au/ desertwave.rsx in your RSS reader.
This latter technology is likely to become increasingly important, so it's a good time to get to grips with it. | |
Dear !*FIRST_NAME*!
My how time flies when you're having fun. I don't know about you, but I'm having fun. In late July I'm off to the United Arab Emirates to do a spot of work for the Higher Colleges of Technology (featured in last month's 'Worth a Look'.) It's the perfect opportunity to have a look around the Middle East and Africa. Best of all, I can still run my business from my notebook computer; one of the many benefits of having an online, home-based business.
In mid-2008 I plan to move to Robina near the Gold Coast in Queensland and 'refocus', a word I prefer to 'retire' which has overtones of hanging around waiting for the Grim Reaper. I'll close down part of my business and leave that part going that earns a residual income with just a few hours of effort each week. This is a retirement model many on-the-ball people are taking. If you'd like to read about an offer I have going for people to establish a web-based income, visit here where I've assembled a package of resources anyone can use to get up and running within a week. It's intended for real estate agents, but is suitable for anyone. It's surprisingly inexpensive and comes with my tutorial support to learn the ropes.
I hope you enjoy the articles in this issue and thank you for being a subscriber.
Yours in HRD

WORTH A LOOK
The Good Shooting Guide - BBC Training and Development When I first saw this I thought it was about rifle shooting, but in fact it's about shooting videos. BBC Training & Development has launched a new interactive online training module free to the public. The Good Shooting Guide uses original BBC content to demonstrate how to get the best sequences for TV. The module is aimed at anyone working with television production as well as members of the public interested in learning more. It's very impressive.
Coles Myer Learning and Development See how a large Australian private sector company provides learning and development opportunities for its staff distributed across the country. Of particular interest to me was the induction program (see left margin) which is a slide show compiled to HTML from MS Powerpoint. It's a similar approach to an online induction program I created for use within six offices in the Northern Territory. However, mine was interactive in that it required users to do certain things and fax back their responses.
